The Studio La Paz difference

I've dreamt for years of having a space like Studio La Paz.

It's thoughtfully and intentionally designed to offer excellent yoga classes that support you deeply and that stand out from the gym yoga scene in Aberdeen.

Small
class sizes

Each class has a maximum capacity of 10. students.

This means you get close supervision and guidance from me in class, instead of feeling lost in the masses wondering what you're doing.

Expert
teaching

I'm a Senior Yoga Teacher with thousands of hours of experience.

In a gym, many teachers aren't yoga specialists or experienced so can't offer great variations or manage multiple levels in a class.

Specialist beginner sessions

I regularly offer sessions designed for people at the very start of their movement and yoga practice.

Extra time, modifications and discussion are included to build your confidence and comfort.

A warm welcome &
friendly faces

Many of the students at Studio La Paz have made friends on retreats
and at class.

There's always space for snacks, a cuppa and chats here.

If you're feeling nervous about a new class or yoga in general - you're not alone.

If you're new to yoga; expect it to be a journey.
Yoga is a skillful sport and good quality practice makes it feel more natural over time.

It's not about being "good at it", "bendy" or any other cliche.

It's about doing something proactive that feels good, and supports you.

You're welcome exactly as you are.

All classes can be adapted to suit different bodies, abilities and options are always offered. You'll be encouraged and supported to take the best options for you.

The Teaching Team

I've curated a fantastic team to bring some extra know how and experience to you at Studio La Paz.

Ali Wiseman

Studio Owner/ Senior Yoga Teacher

026-wiselittleyogi_Original.jpeg

Ali is the founder of Wise Little Yogi and Studio La Paz and has been teaching yoga since 2017. Her love of yoga began with the simple discovery of how much better movement, breath and a little time on the mat could make you feel.
Her teaching blends Hatha Flow, gentle and restorative yoga with her more recent Yogalates training, bringing together mobility, strength, balance and plenty of opportunities to slow down.
Ali is passionate about creating welcoming, down-to-earth classes where everyone feels comfortable, whether they’re completely new to yoga or have been practising for years.
When she’s not teaching in the studio, you’ll usually find Ali planning her next retreat, pottering with her plants, hunting down good vegan food or enjoying an adventure with Ross.

Bryony Shepherd

Yoga Teacher

Bryony is a yoga student and teacher, Vedic meditator and Reiki practitioner.
Her intention when teaching is always to de-excite the body and calm the mind, creating space for students to experience deeper states of rest, release and meditation.
In Bryony’s classes, you can expect slow, intuitive movement, gentle pranayama and guided relaxation — an invitation to soften, slow down and reconnect.

Lynne Kennedy

Yoga Teacher

Lynne discovered her love for yoga back in 2010 and, in 2019, took the plunge to become a fully accredited Hatha Yoga teacher.
With a particular passion for Yin, Lynne loves creating calm, nurturing spaces that encourage students to slow down, reconnect and find balance in both body and mind.
With over 12 years’ experience in the fitness industry, teaching everything from Spin and Boxercise to bootcamp, she loves exploring different ways to move, strengthen and connect with the body.
When she’s not on the yoga mat, you’ll find Lynne enjoying a Reformer Pilates class, relaxing in a sound bath or at home cuddling her cat, Teddy.

FAQs

If you have a question I've not answered here; please get in touch and I'd be happy to help you.

  • Flexibility is not a requirement for yoga.

Many people begin yoga because they would like to improve their flexibility, mobility and overall wellbeing.

  • The Beginner's Path classes are specifically designed for those who are new to yoga.

However, many of the weekly classes are suitable for beginners and options are always offered.

If you're unsure, please get in touch and I'll be happy to help you choose the most suitable class.

  • Anything comfy that lets you move freely. You don't need anything fancy, or specifically designed for yoga.

Layers like a jumper and socks can also be helpful for relaxing at the end of class.

You can bring your own mat if you want to, and I do have props and mats available for you to use at the Studio.

  • Please arrive 5-10 minutes before the start of class.
This is plenty of time to get settled and comfy before we start.

  • In many cases, yes.
Please let me know about any injuries, medical conditions or concerns before class so that I can make sure you're offered variations of poses to suit you.

  • Log in to your account - you can reschedule up to 24 hours before the start of class via your account.
If you need to cancel after this window, please get in touch to cancel. At this point your space is non-refundable.
