Core & Calm

Yoga & Pilates

Weights & Resistance

A workshop introduction to Yogalates using weights and resistance bands.

Sunday 7th June 10:00-12:00pm

Studio La Paz, Morningside Road.

Introduction

If you’ve been curious about building a little more strength in your body, while still keeping that calm, grounded yoga feel — this session is for you.
Core & Calm is a slightly stronger Yogalates class, blending elements of yoga and Pilates to help you feel more supported, stable, and connected in your movement. We’ll focus on core strength, posture, and functional movement in a way that feels accessible, balanced, and encouraging.
It’s not about pushing to your limits — it’s about exploring strength with awareness, and leaving feeling both energised and relaxed.

Details

We’ll begin with a gentle warm-up to connect to the breath and bring awareness into the body, before gradually building into a more focused Yogalates sequence.

Using resistance bands and optional light weights, we’ll explore exercises that support the core, improve posture, and build strength in a steady, controlled way.

There will be options throughout, so you can work at a level that feels right for you.

The session will then soften into slower stretches to release any tension created through the strength work, finishing with a short guided relaxation to help you fully unwind.

You’ll leave feeling stronger, more supported in your body, and with a better understanding of how to move well in your everyday life.

Ali came to me highly recommended by a friend of mine and now it is my pleasure to highly recommend her classes to you. Having looked at the various classes on offer I opted for the 'Yin' Yoga' class and have never looked back. Ali is a genuinely lovely person who teaches with compassion and care, always observing her students positioning and above all ensuring their comfort is key whilst getting the most from the poses and stretches that are practiced. I personally work in what can be a stressful environment and this class provides me with so much relaxation that I feel fully restored by the time I leave. I also have the best nights sleep after attending the class which is so important to me.

Thank you Ali for you time, patience and generosity.

Hi, I'm Ali!

Hi, I’m Ali — the face behind Wise Little Yogi.

I’ve been teaching yoga since 2017, creating small, welcoming spaces where people can move, breathe, and feel more at ease in their bodies. My classes are designed to be supportive and down-to-earth, especially if you’ve ever felt unsure about where you fit in.

I’m currently training in Yogalates, a blend of yoga and Pilates that focuses on building strength, improving posture, and supporting the body in a really functional way. I love how it helps you feel stronger without losing that sense of calm we often come to yoga for.

This session is a chance to explore that balance — building strength in a way that feels manageable, encouraging, and grounded.
I’d love to welcome you along.
